HaeChan Lee

I'm a Ph.D. student in HXRLAB at Kyung Hee University, advised by Prof. UiJong Ju. My research focuses on visual perception in Extended Reality (XR), with the goal of understanding and enhancing the user experience. I am particularly focused on optimizing the energy efficiency of XR devices through foveated and binocular asymmetric rendering, as well as proposing a system and user interface (UI) to improve pedestrian and driver safety, informed by user studies in high-fidelity XR environments.

M.S. in Kyung Hee University, majored Department of Information Display
B.S. in DanKook University, majored Display Engineering & Chinese

Other Projects

Color Perception Training Simulation
This simulation teaches users how different colors are formed through RGB combinations while playing a balloon-popping game in VR. Users can mix as much RGB as they want from the palette on the left, then aim at balloons with their right hand and fire missiles. If the mixed color is similar to the color of the balloon that is hit, the balloon pops. Through hints, users can check how each color is composed and learn unfamiliar color combinations.
Electric Scooter Riding Training and Safety Education Simulation
In this VR simulation, users can use the controllers to experience a realistic electric scooter riding method and build riding familiarity in an immersive environment. It also presents accident scenarios that can occur during real riding by guiding users through a predefined sequence, helping teach safe riding practices and proper operating methods.
